I CAN TELL
Waiting for scraps
Like a dog.
Embers down and smoke
Filled longhouse.
Table, hours empty
Cold.
Relentlessly waiting,
Dogs will debase
Unwittingly
Due to ignorant nature
And priority.
Sustenance more important
Than maintenance,
Proclaiming a deft lack
Of awareness
A feral disconnect
Asserting now
Over human nature.
Stores empty from time to time,
Although door is still hinged.
It still swings freely.
Perception is third nature
To the feral,
As introspection goes only
KneeD eep.
