BIRD BRAIN
Little kids will climb
Trees
Without assumption
Of self
Competency.
Vertical scramble
Until arm's reach
Meets arm's end.
The bough breaks
Or sudden slip of caring
Lowers eyesight
To constructed reality.
Why does consciousness make things
More frightening
Sometimes?
Over thinking
Has two sides.
My polyamorous heart
Loves to love
Both sides of that story.
Lately I've only had eyes
For one.
